    Well, I want to learn more about amps and building them. I'm thinking about building a hoffman 6v6 plexi because they are very well explained, simple and they seen to be a nice platform to start experimenting with some mods.

    If you think differently, please let me know.

    I think my "final goal" will be this small plexi with a loop and a gain cascade mod. For now I have no idea how to do some sort of "one cable mod" in this amp because it has only one input. what are your thoughts???

    any inputs are welcome, and I'll try not to kill myself building this amp.

    Then you should have your head examined. You might wind up like me.

    I am building a 10w version , same preamp but 4 inputs . There are almost endless options. I am kind of dragging my feet , first I had a issue with my chassis and got that worked out because I have been trying do my layout on 11” x 15” paper.

    I stripped the shit out of a Silverface 100 watt MV Twin Reverb that looked like it had literally fallen out of someones van and built it into a single channel AB763 w reverb, Type 3 master volume, bias measuring ports and externally accessible bias trim pot, 2 6L6's and 1x12 Eminence Governer.
    Unbelievably, it fired up first try. I didn't burn the building down, and w a good amount of tweaking esp to get the reverb sounding correct, it sounds cool as shit. I actually partially disassembled the cab and replaced the particle board baffle with birch ply, glued and screwed the new baffle in, and glued the tolex back down. Great fun and I gained a shit-ton of knowledge.
    Go for it. :hbang::hbang::hbang:

    If you put a cascade input you will have a 2204 . The single input is much easer to build. Ditch the loop now remember if all goes right it works. If not you will need a scope and generator to trace out the signal.
