Hey folks

I have managed to aquire a few nice vintage heads over the past few months, but it seems almost impossoble to find 4x12 cabs. Either they are completely molested or totally overpriced.

Is there somebody that builds pinstripe repro cabs? I would love me a tall bottom cab and a angled top cab for a nice fullstack.

Could also be empty cabs, since i have a few nice speakers laying around.

Thx

Pete Mather. He will use EC Collins Pinstripe cloth. I love mine, and it sounds killer. Mines loaded with Pulsonic G12Ms. Aint cheap though. Ive had mine about 5-6 years.
Quality is second to none.

I payed around $1200 several years back, which included shipping. The Pinstraipe cloth alone is around $500

That sucks, though I didnt realize you were in Europe.

You might try Zilla Custom Cabinets, and request EC Collins Pinstripe cloth.

Not to be unhelpful the price of buying a repro isn’t that far off buying a vintage cabinet, depending on condition / year obviously!

A real Pinstripe cabinet would be insanely expensive, if you could even find one. Especially an oversized TVB cabinet liks is found with a 1966 JTM45/100.

#1982 cabs yes, pretty rare.

the slants from ‘66 ‘67 ‘68 not so much

I see about 5/6 for sale each year, the prices vary depending on the condition/location, the last one I got was pretty cheap, less than it would cost to buy a new Friedman cab.

Their are a few vintage alternatives - Carlsbro did their own clone of the tall #1982; metal panel handles and MDF construction, they were normally sold loaded with Celestions

I wouldn’t gig it but sound wise they sound stellar and pretty close sonically to the cab it’s cloning.

they are still pretty affordable.

$ame for the reissue JTM 45/100 Cabinet$ ....

I payed $1000, + $200 shipping several years ago for a JTM45/100 TVB repro from Mather. Loaded it with 4 Pulsonic G12Ms.

One sold on Rvb a while back, and it was a restoration.

I like your style.
Also like @Metroman 003's style :) I would most likely do same and swap out the G12C's currently in the 1982BJH.
(Hoping to score a 1982A, or if one shows up around here that does not have the pinstripe torn!)

If you're able to recover a cabinet yourself, you could just do a pinstripe/retro conversion on a common JCM800 or JCM900 1960 cabinet. That's what I did. The toughest part was cutting the pinstripe slots in the top and bottom. The straight parts were easy table saw work, but cutting down around the front edges was a bit tricky.
