Found this beauty whilst grabbing strings today. $83cdn. Genuine Peterson strobo. Works well, just checked both my gits for intonation and gave em a tweak. Supposedly accurate within 1cent. 20200117_135617_Easy-Resize.com.jpg

I use a Snark. It is good, but not as accurate as the strobe.
Good enough for me, but I am just waiting for it to break. The stem is said to be a very weak link.
    So maybe a Peterson next!

    Sweetened™ Tunings for supreme accuracy
I would like to see them put their tech in a smaller package and technology is exponentially getting there. :)

I have a korg clip on and a snark and had them all running. ....all surprisingly accurate to each other. The Peterson is cool.. . But at $85 cdn.... Meh I dunno.

I like the strobe better for setting intonation or tuning keyboards.
The snark is good for live shows, quick and easy.

According to the website accuracy is to within 0.1%.

My LGS has these in now, but £55!
    Snark is £12.
Four Snarks might outlast one Peterson.

How secure are those clip-on tuners? Do most of you who own one leave it on the headstock at all times, or do y'all take it off after tuning?

I've never used one, but I'm curious how secure is the clip-on feature.

Grips pretty damn good. Like won't fall off unless maybe you banged the tuner/headstock on something. Like a singer perhaps. Lol

I leave it on the guitar all the time usually.

Their downfall is, it has to be relatively quiet like between songs or eise it can pick up bass frequencies as it works on vibration, and make it harder to set. I always use the floor pedal tuner and the clip on when live.

TC Electronics clip on tuners are the best.
    Snark is among the worst.

I still like the strobe tuner better than the snark.
But snark is OK and low budget which fits the needs.

I have just the one Snark ST between 5 guitars, and that is where the problem may arise.
The ball joints are reported as being the weak link.
If just one of the tabs holding the ball snaps, the whole unit comes away from the clip.
Have to be gentle when swapping.
The Snark is accurate enough for my purely amateur purposes though. And has lasted a year so far.

The Korg hinge is going to be far stronger too.
Ball joints are way easier to position, but weak.
