I already said it often: Buy in Europe and have it shiped by air freight for a third to half of the price.

Good evening everyone - this is my first time posting on the forum. I really like all the folks here with the same passion for tone and Marshall amps. I have a SC20h, Sv20h, and an Sc212 cabinet. And I really like the V type speakers. Been thinking about the smaller sc112 or sv112 - but at a price of $1100ish I couldn’t pull the trigger. Read this thread, never heard of Thomanss before and wow - what a HUGE difference. Thank you all for bringing it up. Picture of the invoice, amazing. Hope the price showed up in the pic. In case it didn’t that’s $364 US + $97.70 shipping vs $1100 at sweetwater of gc. To be fair $1100 includes FREE shipping. Thanks again - really glad I found this thread online. Rock On!

It is the supply chain thing and tariffs.

There are no import tariffs on amps and cabs in the US. And the supply chain arguments don't hold up if you can buy and have shipped the stuff from europe by air freight within a week. And that all for a third to half the US price.
The reason is more profane: Sweetwater/Guitarcenter and the US distributor of Marshall just rip off their US customers.

US import tariffs:
Amps 0% https://dataweb.usitc.gov/tariff/database/details/85185000
Single speaker cabs 0% https://dataweb.usitc.gov/tariff/database/details/85182100
Multi speaker cabs 0% https://dataweb.usitc.gov/tariff/database/details/85182200

Wow….. now what about amps that run on 230V exclusively? What’s required to run it properly here in the USA?

Just buy the dual voltage capable top of the line 1959hw or 2203 reissue for the price of a DSl100HR ...

It wasn't very long ago that you could get a nice Marshall 4X12 for that kind of money.

Yikes! When I bought my 2555X Jube in the early 2017 blowout, I not only bought a matching cab, I really stretched it and went full stack with the 2551 AV/BV cabs. Thought I was paying enough at $850 ea, and that was no tax or shipping........
