    why do they do it?
here is one of the best songs from this dip shits solo career and
he runs it through the damn meet grinder.

actual music starts at 8 minutes in because dave will NOT shut the hell up
telling a story nobody gives 3 shiots about.

anybody else have a video example of one?
hell motley crue is a good one. every song vince does in a show he butchers.

DLR butchered everything in his new residency...

Robert Plant has butchered quite a few. I mentioned in the walkout thread, that the Scorpions butchered some songs, so I walked out...

I've had many bandmates, that get tired of their songs & since they haven't gotten the exposure yet, they recycle them & IMO "butcher" them. When you have a song that's pretty complete, you don't have to screw around w/ it, just for the sake of doing it different. I find that in a lot of cases, the original was best.

I've heard other songs though, that bands have done, then heard earlier iterations, where the later edition sounds best, but, w/ a lot of my friends, it doesn't seem to be the case...

Rick I had listened to a few of DLR's songs from his Vegas show and they were all gawd awful.
I'm embarrassed for the guy really. It's gone and he ain't never getting it back.
I think I also read that he is going on tour at he same time!!
The guy's got some nerve to try and foist this on his fans.

i agree. the best band i ever saw that refused to give you anything other than cd quality
at show was Warrant. saw them about 3 times and couldve sworn that i was listening to a cd.

dave's problem above is when he started doing that lounge act BS way back. totally ruined himself.
as you can see in the video above he spends 8 minutes talking about bs that im sure nobody cared about
just like a lot of lounge singers do. they do a song or two then talk for 10 minutes and then do a few more
then talk for 10 minutes and so on. i know thats lounge style but damn, you cant bring that crap into a place
where folks are expecting high energy.

a few yrs back i remember reading that lounge and pop were some of his passions.
i guess that explains some of the covers VH had to do.
VH wasnt to happy about it but they pulled it off and it helped get them radio time.
dave was also a paramedic in NY for a while too.
can you imagine riding around with this loud mouth all the while trying to race to save folks lives?

They were just talking about this on the morning radio show a couple days ago. They played him butchering...I think it was "Dance the night away." Yikes, it was bad. See if you can find that one, lol.

EDIT: Kinda looks like Neil Diamond, doesn't he? lol

I saw Judy Collins and Stephen Stills last year and was very disappointed in both.

Judy is one of those singers who for some unfathomable reason will not sing in time to the music. Totally ruins her biggest song. Jeezus, Judy...listen to the piano!

i read a interview of Ted's one time. he swears up and down Ed work his and Ed's asses off
in the studio. he said often 2 days would go by w/o either of them knowing it in the studio.
he would leave to go home to get some rest and said often times Ed would hit him up just as
he got home to come back to the studio because Ed had a new idea so he would have to turn
around and head back w/o a wink of sleep.

they say Grace Slick eventually got this way too. butchering everything.
ive heard and seen James Hetfield do it too with trying to do some of their earlier stuff.
vince neil is a solid guarantee for this.
i mean come on, your going on tour and there is a time before that the bands re polish themselves
to get things back in check. i do understand from time to time crap happens.
but damn time after time you see this with the Crue and in just about every live video they do.
