I have a TH 30 Head I'm wondering if I could use a 16 ohm 2-12 cab plugged into the 16 ohm tap.... and a 8 ohm 2-12 cab plugged into one of the 8 ohm taps at the same time?? I could rewire the 8 ohm cab to make it 16 ohms...but didn't know if it was necessary.. Thanks, Terry
No, that would be an improper load. On amps that also have a 4 ohm jack there's a way to run a 16 and an 8 safely, but most Oranges don't have 4 ohm jacks. ------------------- You can't rewire a 212 8 ohm cab to be 16 ohms -- you'd have to replace the speakers. (If it has two 16 ohm speakers in parallel you could disconnect one speaker and run it as a 112.)
thank you RLW59 And yes, the 8 ohm cab...actually a combo amp.. Music Man 130 Watt...has two "16" ohm...Speakers... Actually they say 15 ohm on each of them...they are Vintage G-12 T 75 Celestions.. Terry
