For our European friends that equals £1,510. Here is the gear you own now:

    Fender strat
    Midrange Martin
    High-end Takamine
    Blackstar practice amp

Absolutely no rules, if you are over the budget by a little that's fine. Money can be divided equally on amp & guitar or you can spend every penny on a guitar or amp exclusively.

I am getting a bonus from work & I just want to hear your opinions. I play anything from alternative rock & worship music to satanic heavy metal.

    Gibson 50's Tribute - $900
    Peavey Classic 20 Mini Head - $500
    Orange PPC112 1x12 V30 cab - $380
TOTAL = $1,780 with plenty available for tax, strap, strap locks and strings.

The sound of the Tribute is phenomenal.
The tone and versatility of the Peavey is virtually unmatched.
The Orange 1x12" is THE best modern 1x12 speaker money can buy.
With this gear, you will be catapulted into the deep parallels of the sevenfold universe. It will, without question, get you alternative rock & worship music to satanic heavy metal.

*Note: it is unfortunate that no YouTube video currently available is able to capture the true sound of the Peavey. You simply have to feel it in person.

This. Those 50's tributes are fan-frickin'-tastic. And I kinda hate Gibsons.

Amp?... Used market for sure. Way more bang for the buck.

Vox ac10c1 with enough cash left for some toys like a good delay.

    Used PRS CE22 w/Dragons.

JCM4104, preferably a model between 81-83. WGS 65s are a great speaker, and many have them because of the originals not coping. The holy grail of tube amps and will do everything you want. Loud enough for anything, too.

In the US that should EASILY come in under 2k. I could nearly do it for the AUD equivalent in Australia, and your prices are cheaper.

I have a 50s Tribute and it's great, but I'd have to go with an AC30 and a Telecaster. That's my favorite combination right now. Cost of the AC30 would determine how much Tele you could get.

My refurbished AC30 and new Mexican Tele cost $1200 total. For the $2000, you could probably get an American Standard instead.

With that kind of budget I'd build an amp kit and a Warmoth guitar.

Amp: Used EVH 5150III or Orange Rockerverb. Both have great cleans and can thrash out, but the EVH slays more. You'd prob want a boost for the Orange.

Guitar: Used high end LTD (any you like) or Epiphone LP.

You'd be within budget and sound awesome.

I'd be at the bar trying to figure out why I wasted my money on two acoustics.

What's wrong with that? Ones a classic dreadnaught, the other is a jumbo acoustic electric.

I'd put more money into the guitar and less into the amp. You can always change amps, but a good guitar is a friend until it betrays you, which can be a long time.

Listen to this guy.. Honestly, split it up. Get yourself a 1990's LP studio, it's hard to do any better than that. Then, you'll have all kinds of money to get an amp. However, once you start looking used you can end up with an SG standard < $1k all day long. Then get a Marshall combo or half stack and you're set. Also, used LP classic, trad, etc are in reach as well.
