it seems pretty nuts. The traffic of rail cars, automobiles, horses & pedestrians. Almost all are just doing their own thing, no order to the traffic, except the rail cars are stuck to the tracks, but, even then, they come out of nowhere too...
If the restoration of old film interests you, I recommend looking at Peter Jacksons (Lord of the Rings) restoration of WWI footage in the documentary 'They Shall Not Grow Old'.
If you ever come to Paris, France, there's an amazing museum named "La Cinémathèque" (that you can reach via the Paris metro network) which opened in 1936 to preserve and restore old movies, and has several pieces of work and machinerie from George Meliès and the Lumière brothers (all of them pioneers of the art). If you like that kind of stuff, you need to visit that museum, it's incredible.
It's not so much the guy's resto jobs, but just seeing video from the 1800s is intriguing. Early 1900s is also cool, but seeing the way life was back then. It seems that they had a different chaos than we do today. People always talk about technology making things "easier" on us for everything.
