Picked up my 75 V and my 93 PCS RR from my tech today and commented it’ll be a while- done spending $ on gear (and then he jinxes me-) “yeah you say that, but tomorrow you be flipping through the Clist ads and then…”
So, I go home to test out his handiwork. That’s when the horrible hum I had been hearing out of my 2203 JMP became too much. I unplug everything and plug it straight into the wall. Still buzzing. Pull the Hot mods. Yep. So, I curse over another tech I’ll need to pay to fix another piece of gear and call the amp tech. They always have a lead time but he says “bring it by.” I don’t hesitate to jump on a “maybe” and speed over.
We wire it up and flip it on and he reaches over to grab something to test it and YOU…HAVE…GOT…TO…BE…SHITTING…ME. ‘75 Flying V w. a fucking hang tag on it. This is a repair shop guys… like 12 things are for sale by owner and 9 of them are pedals or a humble amp.
On top of that, the amp was fine (bad wall outlet here). There was no prob w the amp and no rush to be on the waitlist if there was. Something told him to tell me to stop by and that was the message from the universe to unite the two of us and make me fucking broke.
So here’s to God getting my attention, my guitar tech jinxing me and the crazy universe doing its thing and making me eat a lot of sandwiches for the foreseeable future.
Now to source expensive things to bring this back to proper spec.
