POS? Maybe. It appears to be a Jackson JS20R (reverse head stock) Dinky made in India. Not a bad player for $100. I bought it mostly for the reverse head stock. I kinda like those....

I'm considering a new body routed for a Floyd, but I'm not crazy about the look of the Jackson bodies even though the Dinky size is kind of cool. I prefer a single hum set up with a Floyd rout in Basswood or Mahogany.

Took some measurements off my Charvel Model 2 and it looks like this neck would fit that Body so I may look for a Model 2 body with a Floyd rout.

    Nice score for a Franklin.

The plan was to build a rising sun guitar.

But this Dinky body looks pretty nice and is only $90+shipping. Pre-routed for a Floyd. I already have a JT-6 and an OFR lying around.

    NICE.
Still a Dinky - almost plug and play.
FR routs can be a b!tch, and I have the templates....

I'm really liking the 7/8 Dinky body.....considering a higher end version.

The neck profile BTW, is 80's Charvel Model series. Probably my favorite Neck of all time.

I wish Warmoth made Dinky bodies.....Anyone know of a company that makes Dinky Replacement bodies? Jackson neck pockets are different than Fender.

More of a trapezoid shape on the Charvel/Jackson's than a square pocket like the Fender, IIRC. Or maybe just a different size.

Years ago I bought a Strat style Mahogany body to mate with a USA Charvel neck and the neck did not fit. Kauer guitars routed the neck pocket for me.

ok, I was going to say, that now, they are all the same, except imports require wood cutting somewhere...

I thought that Charvel/Jackson made Fender USA compatible parts.

G&L are not. They moved the neck pocket route & heel by 3/8". So, if you get a G&L neck, you have to shave off 3.8" to fit a Fender. To put a Fender neck on a G&L, you have to put a 3/8" filler piece...

Guitar Center used to sell those for around $300. Any guitar that works and plays nice is worth that. I'd have bought one if they'd made 'em without the reverse headstock. Throw a new set of 9's on there and slap it around for a while, see if it's got any bad notes.

I have zero complaints with it so far.....especially for $100. A Floyd would be nice though....

I personally love the reverse headstock and that's the main reason I bought it. I already have a Charvel Model 2, and a Jackson X series King V with the "normal" headstock, so it's kind of a nice change.

    Honestly ,
Ive owned a few Jacksons in the 80's -90's . Whether they are China-Japan-Indonesia-or USA Theres not much difference. Yeah the pick ups vary, and they sound just ok ,even on the USA models. The tuners BLOW on ALL models.
Truth, Just getting back into playing,I picked up a MIC cheap-cheap-cheap Dinky mahogany body with the BAKED maple neck for $ 284 to my door on Memorial day from GC. Other than a slight buzz on 2 frets(easily fixed with 5 minutes of tweaking........It plays perfectly. The action is sofaking low, no effort is nec'.........and zero buzz, and stays in tune like a champ-from either sitting in the case, or beating the snot out of it,...its still stays in tune. Fit and finish is sweet, no sharp frets, no gritty frets, and intonation is great.....better than most oddly enough., I hardtailed it immediately . If I didnt know that it was mahogany, Id swear it was swamp ash.
Im taking it to have it set up and intonated by Noll guitar for $ 60 bucks when it needs a string change. We shall see what the masters can dial in.
Enjoy your cheap guitar,....I am .....thoroughly. Besides Im saving my $ for my Goldtop this DEC:D

    Rock on

    $2099?
OK, it's kinda sexy for a Dinky, but didn't this thread start with a $100 POS that needed a FR?
I have to circle back to routing the POS for the FR ya already got.

But then again, if you trade the POS in at GC you'll get $210 off the new one...
