Not mine, but mine is just like that. It came w/ an extra (Yamaha) pedal. It's a Roland EP-09. Has weighted keys, midi, as well as all the normal ins/outs.

Kind of limited on sounds, but, I just needed something that's just set up, & off to the side. I have another keyboard, a Roland XP-10, but, then I need a stand, an amp, etc. This will always be set up, so I can play it at any time...

It's nice to have weighted keys & a full keyboard.

My last gig, I played bass, keyboards, harmonica & sang. I was way out of practice on keyboards & harmonica. Singing too...

The idea is to make sure that I'm proficient, when called upon, in all the stuff I do. My last 2 gigs required keyboards.

    Price was right, so...

That setting around 2:00 reminds me of the sound of the keys in "Trampled Underfoot", 3:40 "Jump". You have a lot of features with that Roland.

yeah, it's got some decent sounds. My other one, has more & some better sounds, but, this one has the weighted keys & is plenty good enough for practice.

I used to play keyboards quite a bit, but haven't for years. Now, it's been like, I only play, when I am practicing for something, which, I've hardly been playing anything, so...

Like, right now, I know the chords/scales, pretty much, but, for instance, playing a #/b minor, I am getting stumped. I used to not even have to think about stuff like that.

That's awesome, congrats. I've been looking for a traditional keyboard as well, the midi keyboard + software is just a PIA when you just want to fire one up a play a bit.

Damn! Respect. I have a tough enough time just playing guitar.

    Happy NPD. Congrats.

yep, 88 keys... I had to actually check! It goes down to low A...

I can hook this up to my other one & run them both through the built-in speakers. So, hook them up through midi & this one has ¼" inputs, so I can run a patch cable to play the XP-10 into this, as a sound module...

what do they say about jack of all trades, master of none?

I just dig out my old M-Audio Keyrig 25. It socks though because the on-line link to register it isn't available anymore. I had it once on an old laptop that gave up the ghost. I'm not a player but was starting to learn chords that I was going to use for background fills..

That and reading a few other posts it seems real flexible. Just think, you can now run scales for my vocal exercises on Skype! Lol. KIDDING!

    Very cool!

You can't go wrong with a Roland, a keyboard is an essential piece of gear to have in a home studio IMO. I'm an incredibly lousy pianist, but I still have a Yamaha CP-33 Stage Piano as well as a SY-55 Synth. The CP-33 also has a full weighted keyboard, a must with any decent keyboard (again, IMO). Fun to noodle around on if nothing else..:D

    thanks guys...

So, I've been hackin' away on the new toy. I still suck... I should have bought one decades ago. When it's sometimes 10-15 years in between playing, you automatically suck...

The last couple gigs I've had, I had to play some, & the only practice was at the rehearsals, for the most part. So, I Schlepped my way through...

Anyway, here's a sample of me hacking on it a few minutes ago. I recorded the mono feed out, then made it stereo by shifting phase, by 6ms on 1 side.

Would have and could have learned to play the piano, but there was never one around. My wife plays though, we met in a musical circle of sorts. After we got married I bought her one - a Yamaha I believe, 88 weighted keys, looked just like that one (in the OP), but it's long gone now.
