I seriously never thought I would discover Randy Rhoads this late ,
I heard his playing before but now I see !......lol

It all happened after watching this video , and Ozzy really enjoyed watching him
play his solos on stage !

I'm sure some of you know more !

while living. And still is a national treasure even now. along with EVH. Randy’s style is one I highly respect. He wasn’t just a flash in the pan. Real talent.

When I was a kid I had both Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman, two of my favorite albums, and I remember being absolutely blown away by the guitar tracks!

I didnt learn to appreciate his style and abilities until much later, like 20 years later.

STOP blaming Sharon. ozzy and sharon were a team. its not like ozzy never knew what she was doing.
if he was to wasted to know whats going on with her and the band then hes double at fault in my opinion. ozzy was a douche bag to randy very shortly after he joined.
    same went for jake.

One of my Heroes. Lucky enough to have seen him with Ozzy.

He was a small guy, with a little voice. Self conscious about his playing.

Until he stepped out on stage with a few inches of heels and a guitar. And then you saw what a frigging monster he was. He seemed HUGE on stage because he played every single note and chord or pick scrape with power, emotion, and swagger. He owned the stage.

Like EVH, to me he was an "untouchable". Oh sure I know a few bits and pieces here and there of his, but I never bothered to become a disciple of his playing. I knew there was no point. Where he influenced me was his energy and presence. Every time I hear or see him play, *I* want to go play, and I try to bring some of that energy (as sloppy as I am) to whatever I'm doing.

The same dynamic between the 'draw talent' and their hired musicians applied to Dio and his band, and to D.L. Roth and his band, except THEY were all promised 'a band' situation eventually with shares, instead of 'hired gun' wages, which never materialized... So the players (Vai, Sheehan, Vivian Campbell) LEFT to be equal parts of a band...

blaming sharon has become the norm as we try to hail ozzy. they were a team plain and simple.

Probably why SRV chose his 'own' deal over the Bowie gig, and why Brad Gillis chose his 'own' Night Ranger deal over the Ozzy gig... You gotta be able to make some money too..!

randy was making just a couple hundred bucks a week with promises of more. the tour where randy died was to be his last with ozzy. keeping it short and sweet. a few month back we had a thread on this topic started by me.

Just read 'Runnin' With the Devil' and learned you could be helping to fill arenas during your glory years and still be splitting $750/show between band members, if you aren't watching out for yourselves... A GOOD read..!
