Congrats, looks fantastic
Thanks Mitchell and all
They did make these in tan, too. It might not be faded.
This is a 1985 3210, it has the faded grill cloth.
It's looks nice !!.............The more I look at it and the more I like it !.....haha!
Anyone else with faded grill cloth ?
My 85 1960a is faded like that, pulled the back off and looked for loose strands on the inside. They will be black as night I’ll bet. that’s what I found anyway
NHSD !.........1985 Half Stack 2204 with G1265's
That is just a straight-up badass rig. Congrat's!
Screamin' for a vintage Boss OD-1/SD-1, TS808, TS9, or some type of preamp.
Got an 1984 SD-1 because of you guys not long ago and it really kicks ass !.....haha!
Post a picture if you can !.........should change the title to *Post your faded 800's* !

Congrats to op!
Ecc83(m)..just a different description for 12AX7...(British I believe)..the "m" stands for medium gain...slightly less gain than a standard 12AX7...IMHO.....j. dain
The Ei ECC83 and Ei ECC82 preamp tubes that I have say YUGOSLAVIA (all in white), like the power tube, and not Made In Yugo. Both are single getter long plates, but there are short plates as well. Perhaps if the power tube would have had a circled Ei above Yugoslavia it would then indicate Ei.
Think I saw Ei somewhere but will check close when I get the amp back
I have a 2205 that has the same grill cloth color. I'm not gonna mess with it since it genuinely aged or perhaps is a rare grill cloth possibly.
Nice !.........thanks for posting!
Apparently ,.when new ,..yours and mine were black but Marshall had issues with dye or the dye
supplier had issues with it ,.....can't remember what happened but someone
who knows might chip in on this.
It was shown by
Mitchell Pearrow that Marshall MOSFET had that same color "amp baffle" cloth cover as your 2204. I did buy a MOSFET but the owner dropped the price way down because he replaced it with black vinyl tolex and no Marshall logo. Once I got it, I replaced it with black cloth and added the logo. So I have no idea what color the original owner had. But here's the thing: I was watching 2 other MOSFET amps for sale at the time (and saved pics of each), and one had a black and one brown cloth. Since they were made relatively the same time, could it be that Marshall used 2 suppliers one whose cloth faded, or purposely did they make 2 versions ? Where's Sherlock Holmes when you need him lol
Nice score. Always wanted an 800 head. I had a 2x12 combo and really liked it allot.
I had to review what MOSFET stood for. If interested, MOSFET stands for Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor. It's a kind of transistor that clips gradually when overdriven, as most tubes do.
