A7FB357D-A634-495E-BAB7-ACC87FBD0687.jpeg Finally found an SG that i like. Others I’ve owned feel like they’re made of balsa wood. This one is 7lb, chunky neck and feels rock solid. 2006 SG special, wine red. Still has the plastic on the pick guard! I don’t think it’s been out of the case in 10 years.

Nice score. Looks like new. I hope you got a great deal to make it taste all the more sweeter.

That's a beauty. Congrats. Sold my Epi SG that looks like that one a few months ago, and now I find myself missing it.

Very cool! I love it. Beautiful guitar!
But I'm partial, I have one somewhat similar. I just happen to take pictures of my P90's SG today. I replaced the tuners and the wraparound bridge. Locking Grovers and a MojoAxe nickel bridge. I had the same tuners as yours. Also have black Knurled Speed Knobs in transit for it.
    to cool-ass SG's.

Nice. Love me some p-90’s. I was planning on swapping out the 498t in this one but i ohm’d it out and turns out it’s a 490t instead. Never played one before. I like it much better than the 498t. Lower output, open and biting. Good pickup!

I had a LP with 490R/498T. Really nice pickups. I only switched them out, because they sounded too much like the P90's in my SG. And I like the SG better. Of course, that was an LP, not an SG. I bet yours sounds great! Congrats again!

    Great sleeper mahogany slabs
I have two USA production SG Specials. When the price is right and you got the money , BUY EM !
The dark one from 2003 and the red one from 1998
The dark one is GOOD , but the red one is just exceptional
    Both with 490 , I don't like 496/498/500 at all

Nice find! I have a 2013 50’s Tribute with P-90’s and I absolutely love this guitar. There’s something about an SG that’s hard to explain but you know it when you’re playing it.

Growing up I always wanted a Les Paul. When I got to a point where I could afford one and seriously started looking I ended up buying a PRS Custom 22 instead. I love the PRS but still had a bit of an itch for a Les Paul. Then I bought the SG not really looking for one. Saw it online one day and decided to take a look. I was hooked on the first strum. Bought it right there. I no longer have that LP itch and don’t see myself ever buying one.

    Enjoy your new guitar!
