Brought her home, pulled the guard, wiped it all down, lem-oiled the board, glued in Straploks, new beefy slinky's, intonated her and gave her a test through the Tsl.

Hold on…you GLUED IN the strap locks??

Congrats on the new LP, man!

Screw the pickguard. I took mine on and off a few times and finally ended up leaving it off. I like the way it looks better without it and it feels better playing it without it.

I'd probably just put the screws back in the holes. Sure, you'd see them, but it's much less permanent and invasive. And who knows, might not look bad at all, never tried it.

J-B Weld if you're serious about the strap locks.

Yes, little drop of wood glue and they never ever come loose. Generally, the straplock screws are a touch bigger than the stock screws, so they tighten up pretty well.
I glue in Straploks on every guitar I've ever owned. Dozen and dozens of them. Zero issues ever. I've also never had a guitar fall either.
(One time I was rocking out and fell down with one Dean DimeOFlame, but it was barely scratched)
I think Straploks are the best insurance you can buy for a guitar. Outside of a good skb hard case or the like.

I live an hour and a half North of Phoenix, hardly ever drive down there if I can help it.

I went to Boogie music. Played this one first, then to Sam Ash, played a few brand new tributes an esp, a couple deans.
Went to 3 or 4 pawn shops in Peoria, slid south into Glendale, couple pawn shops there, drove over to Mesa to bizarre guitar, they had some really nice big priced Paul's and 1 explorer I played.
Hit another pawn shop on the way to Scottsdale, little guitar shop there next to a lingerie store on the corner. Nice fellows in there, only had 2 LPs. Guitar center there made me wear a mask, I told em to stick it.
Made my way to Peoria guitar center, they had a few collectable LPs, and some nice Epiphone models....
Went back to Boogie Music and played this honey again and bought it. Was a great day.

Guys I filled the holes with wood dough crayons. Can't even see the holes from 3 feet away.

It plays and sounds great, have a nickel covered Duncan Distortion SH-6 on order along with a Gibson quick connect for the pcb board. It's gonna sound even better next week! Maybe I'll try to record a sound byte.

Last night I got my pickup and the Gibson quick change wiring in the mail. So it was time for surgery.

And a quick test to make sure I wired it correctly.
