This just arrived today via UPS - on time - from the Gibson Demo Shop on reverb. It's a factory Mod, rather than a demo. There are no signs of use at all. There is an almost imperceptible repaired crack about 1.25" long extending from the lower cavity screw that stops before the edge. I knew it was there when I ordered it - and upon first inspection couldn't find it. We have named it the $900 crack in my family. I'm guessing that's why Gibson decided to mod it. The mods are black plastics as you can see, an MHS humbucker in the bridge and an alnico 3 pup in the neck. I love the look - it looks like a Goldtop modernized. And if I want it to look traditional, cream trim is under $100. I love the sound of the MHS pup - rich, bright, and detailed. The blend sounds great, and the Alnico 3 is deep, a bit dark, and crisp. I also like that they are factory mods - it's stamped MOD on the back of the headstock and they are Gibson original - rather than random changes that I decided to make. Here she is - I'm thrilled - it's exceeded my expectations. The blurry pic at the end is me trying to show the crack, but it's hard to see.
