During a very shitty time of my life there was a nice surprise. I gave my Dean Demonator bass for a Carvin DCT125T, single humbucker in white. It's so 80s that I will buy some hair spray tomorrow just to be up to this guitar. Sounds killer, plays like butter and looks great! I couldn't be happier. I've been postponing my first carvin for a long, long time but now I want more! something about these M22SD that sounds a lot like Nuno in play with me when plugged to my 2203.
Carvins kick ass. I got the addiction a few years ago and it is bad! I have 13 of them now with 1 on the way.M22's are really good pups, very hot very high output. I usually have to back them down a bit to calm them down. That guitar is either an 88 or 89. The headstock is a Jackson lawsuit type and they didn't make them for long. Nice necks, balance, tone, all in all a great player. Congrats.
Thanks man! I was like "I know it will be built like a tank, if I don't like the tone I'll swap the pickups" and now I'm like "I want another one just like this!!!" I'm a sucker for 80s guitars.
If you remove the cavity cover there will be a number stamped in the edge of the wood that will tell you the year. Most likely 88 or 89.
That's really nice - I hope you enjoy it. I love the simplicity of a single humbucker. I'm aware of Carvins but I've never tried one - I'll do so if my local store ever gets one in.
someone shielded the cavity with copper, later I'll uncover it... I was in the same ballpark for 20 years, or more. if you have the chance try it I'm very surprised with the guitar.
lots of good stuff there! I need to buy 2 trem arms for kahlers... one for the carving and another for a bridge I have in my parts bin. I think I´m going to buy everything from this site, it will save a few bucks in shipping, from the same store. thanks for the advice.
