Ive been on the hunt for one of these for a while, had to be a 1976. Finally had one turn up in the country on Reverb, so I jumped on it.

All original, other than replaced tuners and a re-fret at some point. Original, but beat up, case as well. Pots date to late Nov '75. Serial number is 76, so I would be guessing early 76 for the build.

I'll probably try and track down original tuners at some point but its not really important.

Plays and sounds insane, I think there is something in 70's gibsons that ticks a lot of boxes for me. The neck just feels like home.

That's a beauty - not beat up, it's broken in.
Looks like a guitar worth waiting for, nice score.

It's in a lot better condition to what the seller described, or the photos showed for that matter. It was purchased unseen, but the seller was very good. Probably undersold it a bit on condition.

    Couldn't be happier.

Believe it or not, until you posted that, I hadn't picked up that the back of the body was burst.

I had noticed the side of the body and headstock were burst.

    That is really nice.

A '76 Custom was my other option. What I didnt want was a deluxe converted to a standard.

Took a while for the right one to pop up. I do love wine red though.

I didn't actually know there was a wine red :( . Since I have a burst I was lookkng for an older Alpine but this showed up! I really like your burst and that the back has burst. That is so cool.

Traded my 70's Goldtop Deluxe for a 55/74 Special way back. Still peruse eBay for them being sentimental but broke, I doubt I'll ever get one again

There is a 75 Deluxe in Wine red that just popped up not far from me, thought about grabbing it as well and putting in P90's, then got my daughter a new bass instead.
