All stock except new pots & cloth wiring. Def PAF vibe, pickups very open sounding..lil more so than my t tops. Have some Wagner 97 Goldie in case (2).jpg 97 Goldie opt body.jpg 97 Goldie opt marsh.jpg Crossroads sitting around..won't need it. Neck is round 59 profile but not as thick. very comfy. Guitar is just a player & hard to put down.

    Hey Bft...:ot:. in your signature you have indicated : " 1960bx,the rock Cab-1960BV "
To which cab does that apply? The bx or the bv ?

p.s. HNGD. Orvilles seem to becoming the soup de jour. Guitar IV got one just last month.

Bp..i call the 1960bv cab the rock cab. It has those early run Marshall Vintage & t75. When we go the studio..the engineer does a graph thing on the computer...he said out of all the cab's they have mic'd never saw one with no missing ingredients like this. They have mic'd many mesa v30...newer t75/v30 and recorded the graphs..when they layed this against em all( 3 mic's used 1 room & 1 on each speaker) they said it was the best they saw as far as revealing an amps character & best they ever worked with in a mix..they did not have to move it in mix much..the low..the high & the mid is there..but no radical spikes..i said in passing while loading it up to go home..oh the "rock cab" i call it that cause when any amp goes on it..it just brings out the rock in ya.. and they some how made a profile out of it ,,not sure what that means..but i heard my cab is on some other people Albums.. x pattern (2).jpg

Nice! Happy new guitar day! How do these compare against Gibsons? As far as feel and playability.

Sounds like they made an Impulse response or "IR" out of it.

Another thought could be that they were making a Kemper Amp profile of your setup. By doing that they can also make an IR of your cab. Using the Kemper they could make a profile of just your amp, the amp and cab combined and just the cab.
I used a 1960BV cab when we were making IRs. I didn't however do it with a mix of the Vintage and T75 speakers. I did a mix with the Vintage and greenbacks in that cab. I did however, do those same speakers ( G12 Vintage and T75s) in a Bogner 4x12.
You should ask that studio to give you copies of what they profiled.

ahh,,,they have been profiling all along...the 74 Super Reverb..i got there..mic's were everywhere...up at the ceiling...in corners & 4 on my amp....its a modded on normal to break early & trem is bone stock...has Jupiter sc10's. . Interestingly..they snuck it in as me noodling clean before we started

They also had me run through my bump board pedals on the 73 fender pro...i have a Mad Professor Simble(D style clone pedal) We tweaked until i had this really unique upper mid tone...they tried to buy my amp that day..offers where getting stupid high

Awesome man, HNGD! I can't put mine down either. Great guitars for sure, might have to get another one sooner or later :)
Loving the guitar more and more. Just swapped the stock electronics for some full sized 500k log pots and orange drop caps a few days ago:

They feel like a proper LP. You don't get the nitro finish unless you find one of the higher tier ones that say "Gibson by Orville" on the headstock, but you have 50ies specs like a long tenon neck, bridge inserts drilled straight into the body, thin binding in the cutaway etc.

I got my Orville LPC about a month ago and I only put in some new electronics and replaced the stock pickups with a Suhr Doug Aldrich set. The thing sounds awesome and plays great, mine has a Rosewood board instead of Ebony but it has a nice dark color to it and feels amazing:

Nice ! How are you liking the Goldo pots ? Considering them for an upgrade to my LP's wiring, but I'm wondering if they're up to par compared to the usual CTS...
