    Hey guys, Name's Justin

Just got my hands on the head I've wanted for years, the JCM800.

Its a 2210; and running it through an Orange PPC412.

I come with many questions and a humble ego for I know little of what this amazing amp really is thus far.

    Hope ya'll reply!

I'd also like to ask if I can, how I can find out exact specs like the birth year of my head etc? If anyone can help me out, thanks!

    Welcome aboard SF

I think you can contact Marshall directly with your serial number. They should be able to tell you what you want to know

Nice amp. Glad to have ya.

Post your serial number for a manufacture date.

You can also pull your chassis out and there will be an inspection sticker that will be dated.

    Welcome Justin!

There's a letter at the beginning or end of the serial number (that's stamped on the back gold panel) that indicates the year:

    M 1980
    N 1981
    P 1982
    R 1983
    S 1984
    T 1985
    U 1986
    V 1987
    W 1988
    X 1989
    Y 1990
    Z 1991
    Z 1992

    Thanks a lot :)

Any pro tips on this amp per chance? I really am in the dark about it.
Anything to look out for? I remember reading about a snatch with the FX loop but I don't know if it was the 2210, and haven't had the chance to try out the loop yet...

I had it checked out by a tech last week, tubes (EL34's) check out very well; probably new tubes when I bought it.

It actually had to be rebiased for the EL34's because it was set up for KT88's.

The head is in pretty amazing shape considering its age and it's pushing out a healthy 102w.

As for my 4x12, that's brand new. I had my first job for a little while now and pretty much this is what I got it for. Cheers for a real amp after years of having to deal with lame modeling amps.
