Kemperites are salivating in anticipation of the profile.

That is what I always thought it was. The article says it's a heavily modified Supro.

I thought this is what the Supro black magic was supposed to be?

Once played a while through a 60's Supro Thunder Bolt - would have bought it if I had the cash too, sweet sounding. Set the amp to crank, set the tone by adjusting the guitar knobs and picking strength, that amp sang. Missed a golden opportunity - they go for REALLY silly money these day... Always pisses me off that hindsight is always 20:20 vision

That should be next to the Holy Grail of amps but it will probably have a un-holy price tag.

Mitch is on it so it will be good. The limited addition 50 are probably already spoken for.

I like the idea of Page working out an amp that has some of his old groove. It will probably be cool. I’ve never tried to get a Page tone though I’ve had songs like Whole Lotta Love, Black Dog, Rock n Roll, Communications Breakdown and stairway in set lists before. Seems to me the tone coming from the amp is not the challenge.....it’s the sound generated by the fingers is the key.

Probably. Funny thing is all these attempts to get the artists tones is interesting. What I’ve found is some or most of these artist profiles are simply good rock n roll tones. There are some AC/DC profiles that are just great rock n roll Marshall tones that i sometimes just use as an all purpose sound when I’m doing classic rock.

    Methinks you need:
    *Medium-lowish gain tube amp/channel
    *Telecaster with singles
*VERY.SHITTY.SPEAKERS.... or throw a heavy rug over the cab

The last point is non-negotiable. Good speakers will screw you over and derail your quest.

PS they made damn good creative use of bad-sounding gear to record good-sounding songs. You probably won't be so lucky/talented/whatever.

I'm sure Page will be making a good buck on all of these re-issue's... Lol..
Wait, "This is the right amp", No, wait, "This is the right guitar"... And so on...
And so on... Wait, "Just buy them all"... Ok...
