Hello All, Until very recentley (earlier tonight), the pinup amps and cabs were unknown to me. I want one, two, or all three!!! I did a couple of searches on this forum, and found most members who posted about them liked the sound. I also found references to some mods. I'll be checking into those tomorrow. So here are the questions: What is a fair price for a head and cab? I found a couple listed for $1500+, but that seems high. How much did a pinup amp and cab sell for originally? Has anyone tried to replace the 10" speaker with a 12" speaker, or is the cab tuned for a 10" speaker only? Thanks in advance for any info. Stewart
Somebody managed to put a 12" greenback in there with some modification, but don't bother. The stock speaker is damn good, it's just the amp has too much bass and the mids are wrong so it doesn't react very plexi-like. The lyle caldwell mod addresses that immaculately, been gigging and recording it for years now that way, but you'll wanna mic it up live to spread it out better.
