If you think they are bad try paying a premium for a Sony that lasted only 4 years with minimal use and they we insulting idiots on the phone. A local repair shop gave me 100.00 bucks for the TV just to use it as parts. It could not be fixed because there were no parts available new or even used! I will never ever own anything with Sony on it anymore!

I used to really like Sony, but, not so much, anymore. There was a time, a while back, where their Bravia TV's were catching on fire...

I've never had an issue w/ Samsung. They actually embarked on the misfires made by Sony. I've been buying their SSD drives & they are pretty highly regarded. I haven't had any issues (knock's wood) w/ any of mine...

Bought my Dad a 75" Samsung. It's a nice TV, but... it has the most annoying voiceover, every time you touch a button, it has to announce whatever you touch. If you turn the volume down, it announces "volume 21", "volume 20", "volume 19" or when you change the channel: "channel 347" "channel 348", etc...

    It's like STF up already...

I know that I'm turning the volume down &/or changing the channel...

Maybe you have voice guide on? My tv has and you can turn it off, at least on mine you can.

I'll have to look at it, when I get there, next time...

Unfortunately, right after I got it installed, covid hit, & he's in an assisted living, which has hardly allowed any visitation...

Yea, check it, sounds like voice guid is on.

You can accidentally activate it when you roll on sofa on remote control. Happened to me many times… lol

    LOL
I cut the cord 2 years ago.
I enjoy tv a lot more since. Plus half the channels I watched on paid cable are now ota channels. I get 55 channels crystal clear , like a tube tv screen, not all pixelated and grainy. Plus they add 2-3 channels monthly it seems. Did i mention that I dont owe Verizon $200 per month for commercials, and fn reruns

It's 2021, the question isn't antenna vs. cable box

It's channels vs. on-demand streaming and the answer is obvious

For the odd exception like live news during some crisis, well, they're all on YouTube too. Live.
