the bass was kind of a mass... very dirty, so I´ve cleaned up, one tuning peg was bad and one of the screws in the saddle was broken. But I liked how it sounds... so There´s potential.

The weird thing is after assembling it the A string sounds like crap. I have changed the strings for a cheap set I had in my drawer and the A string broke while tuning. Don´t know what´s happening, any ideas?

You need better strings and if the problem is still there then it's the guitar which comes under the heading that not everything is born beautiful. If there is a weird resonance it could be from anywhere, the bridge, the saddle, neck, the body, all of the above resonating together. Which is why playing the guitar before you plunk down you cash is key.

Broken string could be a burr on the bridge.

Check the edges of the peg hole for sharp edges. If sharp they can cut a string in half. File down if needed.

very nice, I have a pink Kramer "The Duke" from about 1980 its mint and supposed to be a prototype. Never changed the strings, hardly ever play it and it still sounds great! original cse too.

do you have pics?? I would love to see that, I love kramer stuff and weird stuff too
