I bought this little guy because when I travel I felt I needed some true tube feel. I'll be honest, after being disappointed with the DSL1H, I didn't have much hope, but this little bugger rips !!! It's a no frills five watt amp but damn, it sounds great. I've been playing it in my kitchen for the last few hours and I love it. I dig the stock speaker but I'm definitely going to try the 12 inch swap. I'll post an update if I ever get around to it.

Wow man, I'm actually surprised you like it, I don’t know why I think that? :hmm:

Maybe it’s all those great 50 and 100 watt Marshall heads you have , lol!

They do sound good though don’t they, I was that close to snapping up one at a good deal but it didn’t work out.

    Congrats buddy and HNAD!

Thank you scozz. Yeah it's kind of apples to oranges with the 50's and 100 watters but for a low watt 1x10 I think it's great. Sounds killer and its only 17 lbs !!! I think the difference between the DSL1H and the DSL5R is the slight volume boost and I don't have to carry a cab with it. I liked the sound of the one watters but was always wanting just a little bit more volume. This little screamer has been just what I've been needing.

Love the 12 inch speaker swap so far. Speaker still not broken in but that and the 823 tube in v1 really opens it up for the UG channel imo. And just sounds, deeper? Fuller? Dunno the word but I love it

HNAD!! I have a DSL5C and i love it. Good tones and loud little fucker! Better through a 12" greenback tho. Can you get a crunch from the green channel?

    HNAD Death! :applause:

Nice looking 5 Watter, nice cat too.

I imagine you can get some really nice crunch at reasonable volume.
