These are rare around here and rarely comes up near enough to get there before anyone else....Saw this one at roughly 700€ and couldn't pass... no real need for it, but I always wanted one. But only if it was untouched.. speaker is obviously not stock, but that doesn't count 20210615_163304.jpg 20210615_163423.jpg 20210615_163501.jpg 20210615_163525.jpg 20210615_163602.jpg 20210615_163616.jpg 20210615_163646.jpg

Edit. If I get a little time over, I might make a video on how you can check bias if you don't have a probe, don't want to solder resistors to the tube sockets on vintage amps and you don't have acces to a scope.

Congrats on your new amp! I have an 83 vertical input that is untouched and love it. I was lucky to find it and paid dearly for it 1600.00! They are a big beast in a little package.

    Ok. Please be gentle
I'm not a YouTuber, not used to this and a bit nervous... it's not my language and i clearly don't have the voice for these things..
Just two easy, quick and dirty ways of checking BIAS with minimal equipment...perhaps not prefect, but if it helps anyone else, then good.( you can file it under "roadside repairs"..). ended up at 65% plate dissipation after doing the math. I'm happy with that and amp sounds FINE.....

    Wow!

Congratulations man, that's a gem of an amp! I dug your bias videos but would love even more if you demoed the amp!

I am guilty of not providing videos when posting new gear day threads. I think it would be really fun tho if we all started contributing a little clip with a "New ___ Day" threads. I bet this amp "rips" n "dips".

That is for 81-83 w/G12-65. The 84 and later are less. They sound just as good!

(Well - if Marshall says that the SV is a 1959, this is what I think the SC combo should represent! 10" speaker is amateur, and as I have said many times before, there are zero pros who use an SC combo.. pathetic lol, but they got the 20 watt 2204 head right!)

Great amp. I also have one.
I don't know if you have the opportunity to crank the volume on it or not but I am wondering how a 30w speaker is going to hold up to a 50+ watt amp?
be careful with the master volume.
    enjoy!

p.s. i need to replace the power switch on mine. the light is out so i don't have that visual indicator that the amp is on.

That 7 at the end of the transformer number also means 1987.

Congrats on the find! I'd be very interested to hear what a 4010 through a single blackback sounds like.

Question- if running a power soak or attenuator, is it safe to crank the power and preamp at reasonable volumes?

Unmolested combos are easier to come by...warms the heart to not see it butchered.

    Congrats!
