Coming from a Boss Katana 50, this definitely feels like an upgrade. I might come to miss a couple of effects from the Katana, but I very rarely used them.

I've been using this amp each time I've visited a guitar store (local guitar center, and Sweetwater when visiting Indiana). So before I bought this, I already had plenty of hours to confirm that I loved the sound.

I had been checking the used market and watching for deals, then guitar center showed off this special edition in cream so I had to have it. I traded in my Katana for $120 (which I bought used from them for $140), then got an additional 10% off for asking nicely.

This purchase has made me play much more since picking the amp up last weekend. I love all 4 of the voicings, love the footswitch, and it sounds great on both my Strat and my Les Paul. It looks sick in cream and gold too! Also, more details about this amp can be found here.

A big plus on the cream version.

More than having effects for the sake of it, what we're looking for is a good sound and the DSL40CR delivers
