I like Rush. Like 'em a lot.
But they're no MIGHTY =\//-/=
Getty's built like a gladiator there. Quite muscular.
I remember when Moving Pictures was released and the whole world stopped.
I mean who didn't just rise up when Tom Sawyer started playing on the radio?
Looking back now I think their odd time usage was choppy on a lot of stuff.
In most cases I don't like it. Page used odd times too but incorporated ways
to blend it to "round" it out. The Ocean is a great example of 7/8 with a tap
on the 8th note before hitting 1 again. That's the magic.
Rush is probably my #2. (die-hard Zep fan)
The stuff you never hear on the radio is some of their best.
One of the bands that to me, I don't care what tune or album - it's all spectacular.
All that from a trio! My older brother turned me onto them in the early 80's. I turned my son onto them and we saw them together on the final tour. My grandson now sings along to RUSH tunes and that makes me happy.
Ok, I give you that . I have listened to Zep since I was 10 years old. 1970.
They are and always will be the rock!
Next gen , Rush!
I agree to disagree . Rush is and always will be my go to die hard band. Hemispheres , three brains floating is exactly what I see.
For god sake through the years they are stellar, no band holds a candle, Sap. Stand down . I will not falter!!! And I know there is a lot of competition. If you have seen as many shows as I have I will stand down but I doubt that will happen !
Just point out what I like in them and what I don't, I guess. I suppose I like their HITS!! lol.
It is not even about their hits , love them hate them. No band has stood the test of time. Integrity beyond the average. All heavy bands have sold out even though that has happened they still stand above all , don’t test me !
they sold out in the '80s...
when they went new wave & Alex quit playing tube amp's & started acting like he forgot how to play...
Roll the Bones - Lol.
Kiddin' IB. They got kinda bad though.
No, I am literally right. They aren't =\//-/=
still my fave , from beginning til end.
saw quite a few Rush tours
Almost as devastating as when Kiss went disco
Here's a semi-forgotten Rush song I love:
Are we going there ? What about Zeppelin? Come on Dogs, they all sell out.
I followed them no matter what , I did find an end. But all bands get there. You won’t break me.
i liked them when i was a teen. 2112 is a great album.
exit pictures and fly was too. lost interest there after.
All the world is a stage defiled !
No fan of Rush can falter , you are weak.
Of course some don’t like Geddy’s venture to keyboards. You won’t like mine either.
Every musician has to find there own path. It is not defined by the listener.
What you own is your own kingdom , what you do is your own glory, what you love is your own power, what you do is your own story!
