Lee Jackson has apparently released the new generation of his Metaltronix amp. I remember seeing the Metaltronix stuff in magazines as a kid and wanting one. The new model sounds way more versatile. Anyone tried this beast yet?

    Yikes $5000 USD ??

5K puts you into the elite tube amp category .

They're 100% hand built from scratch by him.
He hand makes everything you see there.
You're paying for his time more than anything.

If I had dumb amounts of money for an amp I'd get this over a Friedman.Lee helped me with a question about my Lee Jackson 4x12 on his forum. And he's been around a couple years; I'd call him an elite tube amp guy. I think Friedman has good support too.If the logo lights up that's suite.I like it.Super pricey, though.

I like Lee Jacksons stuff but for that kind of money I would probably be looking at Wizard or Soldano SLO100.

Remember 5k was 3,600 just few years ago when the BE100 first hit the scene.
It's just that your buying power has diminished, along with your wages.
So yeah, 5k seems like a lot. But viewed as real value, it's not.

Even the new SLO100's are gonna be 5k.

How long does it take to build an amp?

let’s say it takes 1000-1500 in materials just to be silly, that’s 3,500-4,000 in labor.

I make decent money, that’d be about 80 hours for me if you average those 2 numbers.

If I were to drop a big chunk of cash I’d probably get that synergy rig and some modules, and a nice tube power amp.

Edit: for 5K you could get the Synergy 50 watt head and 8 modules......

If you have time to kill lately ... watch/listen to the episode of 'Tone Talk' Lee was on. He talks about the build process and why it cost so much.

I get that, I’ve got a buddy who builds amazing amps.

I’m busier than ever now, I’ve worked from home for the last couple years and most of our customers have had their install times cut since they can’t get into their customer sites, and I’m getting bombarded with other projects that have been backburnered plus the usual stuff, not sure if they’re trying to validate their paychecks now or what lol.

I don't care if they're handmade, footmade or I get a handjob with the purchase price .At my age being over 50 and having about 15 heads ,for me, it's not worth it. Not when I'm still enjoying and discovering new sounds with my marshalls in conjunction with various pedals. Same thing with new friedman's.Now used I may go for.

I missed an M1000 by a day or two. Walked into a local shop that is always out of the way and nearly out of business for years, saw the 2 cabs, immediately asked where the head was bc it was going to go home with me that afternoon, but it went out the door before I got there. IIRC it was for less than $500.

Ouch damn. Did you grab the cabs to have the full stack when you score the head?
