This is what happens when Gibson takes over musical gear manufacturers. They always mess stuff up.

I will probably never buy another new Mesa. I still need a Mark IV and a IIC+ anyways.

It's an evolutionary step after the Mark V but I'm not hearing a unique mode to it that would make me start selling off my amps to raise money for it. I already have or have had all previous Marks. At the moment I have all except a Mark IV and I traded my Mark IV to get my Mark V.

There are several reasons why they skipped the Mark VI. For one, Peavey already has a Mark 6 bass amp so there's a name rights issue. Or the JP2C may be considered internally at Mesa to be the Mark VI. And there was reportedly a Mark VI that was made, only a couple dozen were made, and release did not happen due to the covid scamdemic. So they went back to work on it and made it into the VII.

Probably at least one of those is true.

Eventually I'll have one. No rush. Some day, I'll get a clean used example. Same as all my other Mesas.

I’ve never tried any type of Mesa or even seen one in the flesh tbh . But now I’ve got a Synergy syn1 I will get the iicp module at some point to hopefully satisfy my curiosity.
