Coke invented the Santa we all know sometime in the thirties. His image was for marketing!
Are you guys telling me Santa isn't real?
These conspiracy theories are going way too far!
Hope everyone had a safe and merry Xmas...'
well children were super lucky in the 30's if they got a present but they weren't allowed to play with them.
NO, they had to be kept in the box in prestine condition cause they were too expensive and little children would break the toys.
some children were given toys that they could play with. the girls got a stick and a rope and the boys were given just a rope.
in the space of 100 years, how things have changed.
apparently the dolls made in the 1800's were made from some material I think it was wax, which would just rot/melt. so nothing has lasted so it doesn't exist today.
so NO WONDER when young people fell in love back in the day the guys gave the women a rope with knots tied in it.
You'll see the tradition if you look in old books. even with weddings people still talk about 'tieing the knot'.
A kids toy train was on the TV today and it was made in ~1920. in mint condition (cause no kid was allowed to play with it) it had super fine metal wheels, as thin as a tooth pick.
it was valued at 20,000 pound.
$35,000 - $40,000.
merry christmas teryno!
Your awesome play-by-play of the Ms. Debbie courtship was the best gift I got this year my friend!
This! She also KNOWS she's a princess and she has super powers. So is he saying he wants to deprive her of that too? Over. My. Dead. Body. I'm gonna get that girl a crown.
But mostly, I was just impressed with her. She understood more, as a 4 year old, about the spirit of Christmas than any adult I ever knew. She knows Santa didn't come down the chimney, she knows her mom and dad got her and her siblings all the gifts... she's not dumb. She's already figured this out. But she knows the symbolism of it. She knows what this Holiday is supposed to be about. It's not about being politically correct, or buying the gifts that help with your bankruptcy claim. It's about giving a feeling. It's a chance to try and help others, when you can. She's even planning on giving all her toys away because she got new ones and she has classmates in Headstart who got nothing for Christmas. The crazy kid! she gets it.
Nah, man... he's totally real
If the idea is an overweight man, with grey hairs, needs a shave & laughs a lot, brings lots of presents in whilst the kids asleep then it's real......
Or at least in my house!
That totally works in some households... haha
That little girl is an old soul...
God bless her and her wisdom. What a privilege to be in the presence of some one of her magnitude.
Keep it real as long as you can Holme.
Merry Christmas to all y'all.
Merry belated Christmas all!! Was gone for a couple days and didn't get to play here!! Hope it was stellar!!
Teryn , that little girl is awesome!! I wish we could all see tne world that way!!
That's for sure. I'm blessed to be able to be with her as she grows
I'm learning a lot from her
A couple scenes from our Christmas.
Hmmmmm looks pretty nice... here's a scene from mine:
This bridge is one mile from my house and in case you didn't guess as much, the water should not be that high...
