Funny I've never seen any kind of real life or video comparison. What would you choose?

If budget wasn't a concern I'd go Matchless or Vox handwired. Matchless has more than AC clones nowadays, but the DC30 is an outstanding amp.

If you are comparing a DC30 with a handwired AC30 your going to have a tough choice.

HA! Tough choice. Before any of the Vox handwired series I would have said Matchless in a second, but the handwired changes things as far as servicability & durability goes.

(Not that there is anything wrong with the current standard AC30's)

If budget wasn't a concern and I could find an original DC30 I'd lean that way.

YMMV Good luck! And don't forget to post a NAD soon!

I have the VOX Hand Wired AC30 and love that amp, but Matchless are amazingly
Built and also collectible, not to say that VOX isn’t good for collecting but matchless
Is high-level boutique all around amazing…..

If you want to go with a Matchless, take a good look at these.

I have 2 of their amps and love them. They are all hand wired point to point amps that are very well made. For about a third the price they may be well worth a look.

Handwired but not PTP. I've not had the pleasure but a lot of folks are really high on Ceriatone, and the prices are very reasonable.

Most all their amps are tag boards, a few like my 2202 are hand wired circuit board type. Still very well made, especially compared to most of the junk out today. Click on the link above to them and pick an amp. Look right over top of the picture where it says "view more pictures" and click on that. Scroll down to see the inside of the amp and how they are made, very nice in my book.

Handwired circuit or tag boards is still not true PTP. It is very nice and usually prefferable to the more often than not mess you get with PTP.

Her are a couple examples of true PTP - one my Denver AmpWorks Bobcat and a Megatone preamp pedal I also own.

I'm not dissing Ceriatone in any way. Too many people I respect say they're legit. I have no reason to doubt it. I'm just nitpicking over terminology. Ignore me.

Thats wild, I've never even seen an amp like that. I always thought PTP was the tag board stuff. Do they make full size amps this way, like 50w & 100w? Looks like it would get confusing pretty fast.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157666864207466 This should be one of their Matchless style amps called the Stray Cat 30 if the pics come out. Some of the amps they make use a drilled thicker circuit board material, still kinda like a tag board. That style you show looks like you better know your stuff to put one together.
