Yep! I’ll have to settle for the presets on my JMD for those tones
Nothing wrong with that bro,, I would do the same.
I have never had the opportunity to play a JMD, but do remember when Twin AC stacks got his and went to the house how great of an amp it was.
Cheers

Perfect storm.

Marshall is in the UK and UK had Brexit.
Covid 19 and lockdown with people staying at home.
The used market is being bought up more rapidly.

I think buy now. It will only get worse. You could wait for another 5 to 10 years for Brexit to reverse itself and for the new buyers who quit guitar putting their gear back up for sale in the interim.

That’s interesting, I’m wondering if it’s only us, (United States), that are seeing these higher prices? It wouldn’t surprise me at all.
Availability and prices are still a mess, Thomann has no Boogie amp at all at the moment, which is very unusual. So I wouldn't be overly surprised if it's the same going from UK to the US.

Totally agree! Old circuits repurposed, only design work was circuit layout and the power amp which is simple. I don't think they are worth more than 1200-1300 new.
They are really a $700 amp with $500 tacked on for the Marshall name plate. I just checked Ceriatone and they have not gone up a dime. You can still get a 2202 for $700 or for about $1200 get a killer head of whatever you want. He of all people could raise the price.

I just acquired my SV20H and found out about this. I had to order mine months ago because they were sold out so it was locked at the previous selling price. It’s ridiculous and I am glad I got mine before the price hike. I wouldn’t have payed the new price for one, even if it is a great amp and I’m really stoked to finally have it.

Is it me, or do the prices of Marshall Studio heads go up about 100 dollars every couple months??? When I bought mine about a year ago it was 1200 bucks.. As of today they are now 1600....

You're not crazy. What's going on is insanity. Those amps are good but they are not worth that kind of money.

In the last 48 hours Gibson went up as well. Standards were $2,500. They are now $2,700. Customs were $4,700. They are now $5,000. And those are just the two models I noticed.

I guess that sums up my chances of getting an SV20 and a Gibson Les Paul! I won't feel sorry for GC, MF, local music stores go bankrupt come spring time! They can stick it up there %$#! Now does everybody feel sorry for me now! Would you pay these amounts for anything. How about some apologies please! I rest my case!
