I don't know if this helps or not, but Sweetwater has them for $59 a month for 24 months. If you put down say $500 it would be real cheap. (Under $40 or so) Not bad unless you get carried away.

Doesn't this song put you on a good one? If you listen they aren't using much gain at all yet it gets me pumped!

    Song is bad ass.:eddie:

That is the best way to explain it.
I am going in that less gain = more tone just as Alvis said, but you have to remember that I am also a JAKE E Lee fan from his Ozzy era as well as the Badlands era, and I sometimes fall off the wagon ha ha !!!
    Cheers my brother!!

$118 for 12 months no credit check at Zzounds. Just paid mine off. Then bought an EC1000T fluence loaded with Open Core Classics. Only active pups I've had that deliver PAF tone and feel plus hard rock jackery using others pup settings. Fucking Saweet!

Falling off the wagon Badlands era is like a Viking making it to Valhalla! Make sure your weapon is in hand.

I believe Jake went straight in 800's on his Badlands first.

Straight into the amp is how I've been playing 99.8% of the time I've been playing..decades.

It was a bit of a novelty. I tried them all. My brother has an original 70s big muff. It must be worth a fortune. Plus my old Marshall didn't like pedals (no FX loop).

If I use any pedals now they are a clean boost and wah.

I play mostly on the dirty channel of my DSL20HR and no pedals in front. I have a chorus and a reverb in the loop and use them now and then, but the distorted amp sounds best with the guitar straight in and the loop off. If on clean channel, then I might add a compressor , clean boost and ts clones in front, but have not done this in a while. Raising the noise floor bugs me and rather than adding a noise gate to my chain, I prefer to just play with guitar straight in the distorted channel and the loop off.

IDK.. I have tried straight in and it doesn't sound good to me... I use pedals to get that sound I want... I don't mind as long as I get there... YMMV..

Yeah... That's the sound I just don't dig... Like it's too hollow for me.. I guess I like the more compressed sound like on Judas Priest, Whitesnake Tracks... That's why I use pedals to get me there.. I need that heavy palm muted chunk...
The playing was good tho Mitch...
    JMHO..

In the Official SC thread I put a boosted clip same tune I think, but this was a straight in clip for this thread, thanks for listening and compliment I do appreciate your generosity and support, kind words and general camaraderie.
    Cheers

I’m just the opposite, I like Mitch’s guitar tone in that clip. I prefer more medium gain rhythm guitar tones, sometimes just a bit past crunch.

Of course it does depend on the kind of music being play.

You think it would hold up in a band setting?

    Was the thump there??

I think it would do a great job in a band setting, I could hear the thump on palm mutes, but I still think it could get a touch louder by 7 on the dial, and I was only using one of my MG cabs, but it does have a pair of eminence golds in it.
    Cheers
