Can somebody explain to me why is the Marshall Logo placement
on 1960 4x12 cabs grid not at the same vertical place around different eras ??
Have a look at some different Marshall cabs and you'll notice
Some logos are placed on the close upper side of the cab's front grid center folding.
Some other logos are placed farther to the fold line..
Weird..
I'm about to have a guy build a 1960 4x12 cab clone and I'm confused
on where to place the Logo according to the grid fold line..
Close or farther to it ?

I suspect they were not always using a drilling template to establish the pilot hole locations. But at least they had a means of ensuring they always went on pretty straight. I've never seen one that was noticeably crooked.

Look at JMP era heads. You'll see that the spacing between the bottom edge of the logo and the gold pinstripe across the front panel also tends to be somewhat variable.

:welcome: to the forum.
If you are having one built, you are in charge of where it goes.
Just a guess, but I'd assume that the cab build process simply changed over time, or there were some different "designers" that had different opinions on logo placement.

I doubt there was a print that showed their employees exactly where to place the logo.

To me, These are the best places to put the logo on the head and cabinet..

On most original 4x12 cabs from the 60's and 70's the bottom of the lettering is flush with the fold line of the cab. It's higher on the reissue cabs.
