What's everyones take on this new Marshall DSL Vintage?
    https://www.zzounds.com/item--MSHDSL40CRV

Who's going to be the first one here to take it for a spin?

Curious to know if they've planned a head version.

What's Vintage about it? Do they make as many trips to be repaired as the old ones?

If the C/CR weren't built so... and the digital reverb would have taken a walk in trade for a spring tank, I would have bought one by now. But they are what they are.

It's only a cosmetic change. New badge. Surprised they didn't change the grill cloth like the C did.

    Utterly pointless marketing exercise.

But at least there is no price premium for what is literally just a couple of badges.

Same speaker as standard, different logo, extra corner badge.
But like I said, same price, so what the hell!

    There is a DSL20CRV too.
    Same deal.
Seventy/80 speaker (like standard), rebadge, but no price hike.

Can't find them anywhere else so it must be a zZounds only thing.

They've had these for a long time. It's just like getting an exclusive color or something from Gibson or Fender for a popular model.

Something to maybe draw a DSL customer away from the 40 million other places to buy a DSL from-

    OR -

For somebody who just doesn't want something that looks like everyone else's/likes to be a little different.

I like the lower badge persoanlly, but the original logo plate looks weird.

    Strange how?
That is the DSL40CV (i.e. the previous version).
At least they changed the grill cloth to something a bit more 'Vintagy' and added a V-Type.
Though in the UK it still had the Seventy/80.

I like this option, while strictly cosmetic I prefer the vintage style Marshall had. I really don't care for the "modern" style they have had since the JCM800 series. The JMP and earlier cosmetics look sooo much better to me. So with that said, I'd love to own a DSL40Cr one day and the option to have a more old school cosmetic look is great!

I LOVE the styling of the Origin series, wish Marshall would stick with that classic "plexi" look for all models.

I played a friends regular DSL40. Sounded great and was very easy to dial in. Maybe one day I’ll get one if the price is right.

    I had the 40 C version.
I bought it because it reminded me of my old 2104.
    Cheers
