What i mean is you can distinctly hear the separation in the tone stack. The bass is attenuated, the mids are nice and bright and the highs clip giving you that crunchy Marshall roar. It's very cool.

There is always a way lol.

I have pondered a loop bypass on a few amp models just for that same application/experience. As you know, there is quite a bit of branch circuitry in the 6100 loops. Then, the 6100 has that low value master volume pot as well.

On the 2203/4, I would think the first stage cathode bypass cap value of .68uF (6100 2.2uF), then the 22nF coupler (6100 10nF) helps lend to that more open, less compressed/bigger audio signal swing we hear in those old amps.

    Many years back before i got my 6100 , i owned a JMP ( Early 800 ) , 2205 800 , 2210 800 heads ...

IMO , the 6100 CH2 B mode sounds better than my other heads i had before ... hence why i still own a 6100 !

My experience is load that 6100 with good glass , and .... or .... push it with a Klon / Klone .

These are such killer amps to just go in an hack n slash up !!!

I been trying to go through my amps collection with all this new free time lol. But the bummer is, the kid is home off school too lol.

I still need to get my two 6100 heads - non LM and later LM, out and run them up against the JVM 410H. The 6100's do have their own identity on that CH3. The topology is unlike any other amp, much less Marshall, that I have seen on schematics. The SL-X has a very slight hint of the 6100 CH3 on one gain stage, but that is still not close. The 6100 CH3 has that succession of cathode followers that was never done before or since. Very unique sound and gain structure.

What is that ? :) Overdrive / distortion pedals or attenuation enabling to push power tubes ?

Greetings to all of you. I changed the power supply of my 6100 to 230 volts and made some easily reversible changes to the second circuit channel. The sound became noticeably clearer, focused, and my hearing was not as tight as before. The rest of the amplifier circuit remained unchanged. I attach two short videos before and after mods. It is recorded in the workshop immediately after soldering.

Just curious, but what was the decision to make those particular mods based on? Are you trying to copy another circuit?

I made sure that the 6100 scheme is complete, unique, and does not tolerate cordinal interventions. Everything is done very thoroughly and thoughtfully. At the same time, it is very high quality and accurate.I considered it blasphemous to change something globally in it and make it out of 6100 jcm 800, since I would have to throw out a significant part of the scheme. This amplifier does not deserve such a fate, for the sake of one sound (800), I am not ready to destroy such a beast... So it is very easy to make a piece of 6100 dull-sounding shit if you start to gut its scheme. This mod was suggested to me by my friend, he is a very experienced technician in these matters. I agreed and liked the result. In any case, this mod is eliminated in 10 seconds. But the sound changed significantly.

Very smart if its a reversible mod why not to do it!!!
For recording i guess its gonno have a huge impact because everytime i see an amp with more clarity the become better tool for that!
Maybe you can post longer clips
    sounds really good !!!
    Keep rocking bro!

Yes, I will definitely record a video demonstration of the sound as soon as I get it from the workshop. My 6100 is located in another city.

The schematic is a little hard to read. Could you type out what you did? From the looks of it, I'm seeing a 470 kOhm resistor in parallel with a 470pF cap at R21 spot, the original 100k res disconnected. C26 changed from a 10nF cap to 0.022uF? Not sure of the cap by C10 either. And not sure about the other metal film resistor in the photo of the pcb.
