I don't think anyone has credibility when they call a "mod" a "hack". Much less make a "Top Ten". Besides, I've always found that folks on forums are more knowledgeable than your average clickbait YouTuber.
First thing I do is dull a glossy finish
My first modding forays are definitely hacks, I'm pretty good by now though. There are a couple seriously butched headstocks out there from using a twist drillbit on tuner holes!
I've thought about doing that to a couple, seems like too much work so i don't.
Looks like basic guitar maintenance to me. And that way of winding strings is dumb. There is no need for locking a string. My way is the way, as simple as it is. Quck, painless, and satisfying, without all the goofy string stretching rituals.
"Hack" is Millennial Newspeak. Doesn't matter what the subject is. Food. Guitars. Games. They all use it. Or anyone trying to attract Millennials.
And yes, I avoid stupid clickbait titles and top ten's too.
