Regret #1: Selling my Custom Shop 57 LP Goldtop. Needed money...should have sold the 335 instead! Regret #2: Selling that Fender Deluxe Reverb head. Sounded great thru those 4x12s. Now they’re no longer available! Regret #3: Having that stupid Hotplate attenuator in the photo with all that great gear! Remember...master volumes and attenuators ruin everything!
The only regret that's stuck w/me is an SG I sold back around 2007/8 or so. I've wanted to replace it all of these years, but still haven't found one I like as much. Maybe someday.
2 guitar regrets of mine.... #1: Stripping and repainting/spray painting my original 1997 Fender Jimi Hendrix tribute Stratocaster. It was Olympic white and I wanted it black like his BOG guitar... WTF was I thinking??? It came out so so with a lot of orange peel...cringe. #2: selling said 1997 Fender Hendrix tribute strat. I sold it to Randy Hansen so if Randy happens to read this, how's the guitar? I sure miss it!
Dealing with a music partner that lends my equipment out and has a fit when it arrives late to a gig. I regret telling him that I've had enough............he then tells the band it's either him or me. People suck. I don't regret leaving. I regret meeting him.
Selling my new white 1983 2203 with matching cab. Sold it to another band buddy I still play with in 1987 to get my Silver Jubilee. Still have the Jubilee. Wish I still had the half stack too.
Does he still have it ? Maybe you can buy it back ? If he won't sell it back maybe strong-arm him into it Tonya Harding style ?
Regrets? Not many. Amps and guitars I'd wish I could have afforded to keep rather than sell? Plenty. My '84 "Artist Original" Explorer. My '79 ES-335. My '78 Mesa Mark IIA head, serial 3116. Both Fender Deluxes. (Silverface.) My second Pro Reverb, ultralinear and silverface. My first 2203 which KILLED, but hey, I got TOP dollar for it. My current 2203 is nowhere near as awesome but I think I can fix that. ALL my Fender Elite series Strats and P-Basses. (1983-1984 time period.)
#3 Selling a Peavey VTM 120 black and silver model #2 Selling a 67 reissue Gibson Flying V #1 Selling a 1986 Gibson Les Paul Standard I no longer sell guitars. I sold a 1992 Epi LP custom in 2012 and got it back 5 years so there is always hope!
I wish i didn´t traded my Fender CS 63 Telecaster, But i got a Gibson CS Les Paul R5 instead, so sort of, it was a good deal.
My USA Dean TCMLF. I barely play that axe. Sad it’s just sitting there. It’s quite an expensive ornament in my music room. I may sell it to get a ‘61 SG.
I don't regret selling (about 30) guitars. I always think about it over and over before deciding to sell. On the other hand, I regret buying some of them. "Why did you get rid of such a fantastic instrument" people all the time say to me....And I always have a good reason ("in need of money" isn't one of them).
