He said 80's style Marshall, not any other era or modified by any guru. So, I said Jubilee.
Speakers make a big difference as well.
The start of this clip is the four speakers in the one cab miced separately.
Any one want to take a guess at what amp it is?
Or which speakers?
I want a 4 channel amp. Major versatility. Each with separate eq. Whats not to love especially in a Marshall?
Four Vintage 30 speakers tested in the one quad box !!...........Haha!
1959 through Greenbacks
OP here.. I found a decent deal on a Splawn Street Rod and bought it. Should be here today. Hopefully, I'll love it.
Yes, I know. Maybe I am too specific.
Not sure of the tonal difference between the Street Rod and the Quick Rod, but I had a Quick Rod which did 80's metal fairly well.
Yeah, right, that's it.
mini jube or better still 2555x 50/100 jube
It is the same amp in a 40 watt 1x12 combo. Has a clean channel and OD channel. OD channel has Hot Rod Plexi, Hot Rod 800 and Super Hot Rod 800 with a Rythm and Lead mode for each of the OD Channel/Gears.
These are a little better quality on the sound
80s Rock N Roll Machine
Nice Clean Channel
I don't have one but, if you want to play some metal and want this amp to be with you forever as well, I think the JVM suggestions are what I would be leaning towards. 100w of course
Smashed it, LOL. Vintage 30's
Kelia Got it. Vintage 30's. Seems I'm becoming predictable
The amp was my JCM 200 DSL100.
I still think with a little setting up and especially with a good guitarist as jchrisf sounds pretty good in those vids. Any of the Marshalls mentioned could be considered as the ultimate if you were to walk in on someone good and hear them whaling away on one.
Not predictable just constantly great tone
You are not predictable !.....I had fun cheating !.....that's why I linked the little naughty guy
with the eyebrows
You posted the same clip on page 4 of a GH12 55hz Pre Rola thread !
And ,....Four Vintage 30 speakers tested in the one quad box is exactly the description you wrote
on your soundcloud page !.............Will you forgive me !?
I couldn't find where I wrote it but knew the phrase "Four Vintage 30 speakers tested in the one quad box" You got me.
It's all fun, no need for forgiveness
If you want the real deal 80's metal tone you want a JCM 800 split channel (2205/10), preferably late 80's they have higher gain.
