Any love for this amp? It's basically a Marshall clone from Amsterdam early 70s. I think the rock scene in Holland was alive and kicking back then, and there was a huge demand for a cheaper alternative than Marshall. They are still around and can be picked up for around 300-400 euro. I just picked one up yesterday. Of course Netherlands is the home of Philips, so quality glass was abundant, even much later than the 70s as boxes full of blackburn EL34 were still kicking around in electronic workshops. This particular amp was retubed at least a decade ago with Xf4 mullards from 1970, and not much used after. Two I63s from blackburn, and maybe by mistake a Heerlen ECC82. Let's say the tubes in good condition are worth as much as the amp itself. Considering to mod it into a super bass, it seems easy to work on as it is completely point to point and clearly had a high quality wiring job. It just needs some Philips mustard caps. Cheers
It has a bulgin power cord. Interestingly only a 2A HT fuse and not a PT fuse. Filter caps below the tag board. Seems like an easy amp to work on
Board components all look of decent quality. I would clean, test and get it running as stock and evaluate if it is any good then.
