Orange updated their solid state Crush series amps with the Super Crush. I've seen 3 demos of it and it sounds pretty freakin' thick with a nice high end. All of the demos have been higher-end so I guess we'll have to see how it sounds in the wild.

I always find the CRUSH series sound far better on youtube than in person. Jar of angry bees.

I do agree that the new SUPER series sounds better than the old ones on the demos I've listened to.

Yeah, shoving a mic in the cone really doesn't give any indication of what it actually sounds like in the room. I think they're even using a combination of the mic and the direct line. I will say when he switched to the combo it did sound pretty real and it was boxy, not nearly as huge sounding. Hopefully one will show up locally so I can hear it for myself.

The thing is, for recording this is a great combination. I've used my MG100 on multiple recordings with my band using a combination of a mic on the speaker cabinet and the line out. It sounds amazing. In many instances it is better than we can get by running a tube amp and trying to mic it and control the level at the board.

Got that OR 15 sounding sexy af ! I've always loved that amp! I saw a Doom band using that and it was utterly authoritative when it droned.

These look awesome. I tried a couple of the CR60C combos and wasn’t that impressed but I think the CR35RT is one of the best solid state budget amps on the market. I’d love to give one a shot, either the combo or a head through a proper cab.
