nice to see that stuff actually getting used. No way I could feel at ease playing a $2m guitar. What if you have to whap someone in the face with it lol?

I was watching an interview w/him recently, and he was saying that the $2,000,000 figure was incorrect, and that he had actually paid less than $500,000. Not inexpensive, but not outrageous either (comparatively speaking, that is). I'm also guessing he gets to write off a big chunk of it.

Anyway, all of the videos I've watched of him playing that guitar, well, he sounds better than he ever has. Looks great and sounds great. Not saying he should forever shun all other guitars, but that one should be in his hands the most until he hangs it up for good (um, like dies).

Great to see it and the amp being used in anger.
I've been a bit disappointed by Kirk's playing and style in Metallica lately but I enjoyed that clip and his playing grabbing a lot of PGs style licks in there too.

I remember when it sold someone mentioned he had got it for a nice price. I don't know the exact figure, no doubt still a lot of money for us everyday folk, but unlikely into the millions.

Still my amp, I loaned it to Kirk for the gig. He's an old friend.

That was cool. It'd have been cooler if Billy G. had dragged out Pearly Gates, too. Twin legendary '59s at once? That'd be just too cool to handle.

I'm glad to see that Kirk gigs that guitar. I'm sure it's well protected and not thrown around like a 99 dollar strat, but a guitar is made to be played.

He was saying that when he was first approached about it being available, that he immediately said that he was not in the market to spend $2M on a guitar, so it sounds like he was under the same impression as to the potential cost (not even going into value). Hefty price tag, but man, what a beauty.

That guitar and amp make one hell of a nice pair together.

Looking for something I don't remember what.
Yes, and our mutual friend flogged him the Les Paul.
Do you still have that very nice '64 JTM 45 that came with two vertical cabs (I think one '64 and one '65) via RH and Amp in Macclesfield?

It was me that arranged for him to have Greenie to sell. Looooooong story, dipped in the worst of human nature. He, Kirk and I were in the room when it sold.

That JTM45 went to a good friend at cost. Nice amp.
