So, a JVM410H has been offered to me for $1300. It looks good and all works, including the footswitch. Would you take the deal? Why or why not? If it matters, it's a 2009.
I just paid 1800 for a JVM410H and a 1960A. 1300 seems fair if it’s clean, they’re over 2500 new. in my area within a 4 hr drive there’s one more head for 1300, a couple for 1600, and some just plain silly high prices.
Seems to me to be a good deal, but I am in SoCal and all Marshall amps seem to fetch more money than elsewhere. Cheers
If the head and footswitch are in pristine condition and if all tubes have low hours in use, then I'd probably make a play on it. $1300 is still a lot of money where I come from.
I also would haggle down a little. I bought mine with FS in pristine condition for $1100. We're both in the upper midwest and thats what they seem to be going for around here. Good luck.
That seems about right, has there been any mods lots of JVMs have had modifications. Mods could make or break the deal
Yeah any history helps. part of the reason I didn’t haggle on mine was the guy was ex military and moved a bit, he had the original carton the head came in, all the manuals, and receipts and history. Apparently he’d purchased one and within a year one of the channels was having issues, he took it to guitar center and they grabbed a brand new box from stock and gave it to him, he’s got the receipts showing the exchange and the name lines up, serial number on carton matches the amp, cabinet serial number matches the original receipt. After that (late 2011) he played it once in a while at home volume and they’re remodeling the kitchen now so cash came in handy.
It seems a little steep to me. I sold mine for $1000 and was lucky to get it, and mine was mint. (The real mint.) Maybe there up now. Do yourself a big favor if you have never tried the JVM and try before you buy. Some people like them, but a lot don’t, kinda like the DSL’s. I only liked the crunch ch in mine. To modern sounding for me but you may love it.
I did haggle the price a little bit. It's in great condition, footswitch, and a complete, new set of tubes (w/receipt).
