(Just posted the same stuff on TTR, so If you frequent both, my apologies for the repeat.)
Using up the last of these beat up old plywood frames that were used as forms to bend plastic around.
Nice 3/4" plywood that I just cut in half and already have a face frame for a Marshall style speaker cab.

PXL_20230127_140749751.jpg

Rip to 11" wide for the cab depth - repeat.

PXL_20230127_141304591.jpg

Cut to length for the top & bottom & sides.

PXL_20230127_145547576.jpg

Shoulder cut the sides to lap the face frames - repeat.

PXL_20230127_145456815.jpg

Run the drops from the unused corner through the saw to make cleats for the back panel.
While I had the saw out, I also cut a 1/2" scrap to make a logo plate for the head.

PXL_20230127_152400386.jpg

Parts ready for assembly...
Now, put the pieces together.

Corner frame clamps to line up and square the 4 sides.

PXL_20230127_151619846.jpg

Dowl jig to drill holes for alignment pegs - repeat.

PXL_20230127_151847673.jpg

Cut dowl rod for pegs - repeat.

PXL_20230127_152222818.jpg

Glue, peg, clamp.

PXL_20230127_162037310.MP.jpg

Repeat.

PXL_20230127_171907888.jpg

Gotta let the glue set for a while.
Then I can belt sand the pegs and run the corners through the 3/4" round over bit on the router table.

When do you guys find time to play?
I know myself It seems I spend more time inside of amps than actually playing them.

It's amazing how time flies with a soldering iron in my hand.

Cab building is certainly addicting as life continues to provide materials! Nice repurpose and craftsmanship.

Russ
Thanks Russ,
These are going to be nice big roomy 112 cabs at 22-1/2" x 17-1/4" x 11".
Looking forward to trying a few different speakers with the 600 cranked.

Here's a few more pics from last night.
Sanded down the pegs and trimmed the corners so there's a little less work for the big 3/4" router bit.

Just that little 45 cut is about 1/2 the wood that the router removes, and reduces tear out of the plywood layers.

Here's a close up of the round overs after routing.
Still some hand sanding and filler - but probably done with the big tools.

Pic of the full stack with the logo plate mounted in the head shell.
Not exactly a Chippendale armoire, but good enough for tolex.

And a pic of the chassis in the head shell.

Going with this for the finishing touches.

Black Cherry Bronco tolex.
I think it's actually kinda close to what Marshall used on the JTM30/60.

s-g485_main1.jpg

Generic T&M Black & Tan.

s-g315.jpg

White piping and 6" script logos.
Standard black corners w/ rivets, and I like the cup handles on 1x12's.

Got the back panel cleats glued in.
PXL_20230128_165353017.jpg
Cut the back panels for about the last of my salvage stuff.
PXL_20230128_181708481.jpg
I'll have enough tolex to do the backs, so no need for pretty wood.
PXL_20230128_181743601.jpg
Made some baffles out of new 5/8" particle board.
PXL_20230129_201918924.jpg
Ordered all the finishing supplies, so I gotta wait on that to finish up.
Put in an old speaker jack for a trial run on one of the cabs with a T-75.
Some A-B-C-ing with some 212's of V-Types & V-30's.
Liking the V-Types best so far, but I'll try them all, and some combinations in the new cabs when they're done.

The brownish tint looks good, along w/ the s/p grill...

I liked the JTM's original tolex color as well, as it was a bit different, than the standard black.

That JTM30/60 style was the look I was going for.
The Black Cherry from Tubes & More seemed like the closest tolex shade available.
I tried to put a little twist on the theme with the black piping / logo thing.

yeah, the JTM tolex has a splotchy kind of look to it. Not sure if it was a 1-off custom, or if Marshall still has some, but, I think the black cherry came out well. It'll be unique...

Amazing craftsmanship and artistry @fitz your attention to the details is impressive. You make tolex look great.

Russ
Thanks Russ, I don't have your patience for the intricate hardwood designs you create, but I think I'm getting the hang of plywood wrapped in vinyl.
Those Marshall-y looking cabs are actually kinda easy.
I've run out of places to put amps, might be my last one for while...

BTW - your shop is too damn clean! I'm embarrassed to show mine even though I'm in the middle of a titanic once every 6-9 month clean.

Russ
LOL, I'm building stuff in my living room and kitchen because my garage and basement are disasters.
I don't have room on my workbenches to work on anything.
I'm due for a MAJOR tool finding, sorting, putting away, cleaning under, behind, and overall reorganization.
But that's no fun.
I think I'll probably just due some prolonged procrastinating.
