Do these amps sound the same? I know everyone says the 20 has the same mojo as the 2204 and 2203 but without all the balls. I've also heard people say the same about the 1. I've never heard a comparison of these two though.

But at loud and quiet bedroom levels would the 1 watt and 20 watt sound the same? Any differences?

If it helps at all, I have a Marshall Class 5 with just a master volume in a bedroom. I have to turn it up to about 7 or 8 to get the amp to break and at that point it requires earplugs and will definitely offend the neighbors. In my basement I can crank it no problem. Still a great amp, I use a Jetter Helium Overdrive to approximate that cranked sound when playing it in the bedroom.

My thoughts are the 20 will be way too loud unless it has some kind of adjustable power feature. I've never played a 1 watt amp and would be curious to hear one.

JCM-1 or Class 5 sound nothing like a Studio. They gives great vintage tone.
    My favorite amp.
Buy a good OD for volume control.

Also, just listened to a few vids of the JCM 1. Seems too quiet for an 800.00 amp

I'm grateful for this forum to hipping me to the Marshall Studio Vintage. Last thing I needed was another amp but starting to get some serious G.A.A.S and I think the only form of relief is to get one.

    I've played them ALL.
Those 1 watt amps are toys.
The Class 5 is okay for what it is.
I love my Studio Vintage. Sounds like a plexi.
The pic shows that I've actually had a few Marshall's. I've had more than that pic shows.
