Just got out of the shop and hit the shower. A little home made chicken noodle soup and then off to the music den to learn 2 Robin Trower tunes for Saturday’s gig.

No hump day for me anymore! :D

Got up, had coffee, and ate breakfast at around 10:00. Played some acoustic guitar, then fiddled around a bit with my Hurdy Gurdy, then played some electric this afternoon..Retirement is SWEET! :hippie:

Congratulations on the new DC-5. One of the best Mesa ever made.

On another note, I'm spending my hump day on the Marshall forum hoping someone might like a comment I leave.

I've never played the TC series before but now I'll check one out. I haven't bought a Mesa in a while, I'm going through withdrawals.

    Actually I have two!

I have a medieval-style three string, with one melody string and two drones. That's the same style as the one Jimmy Page is noodling around on by the lake in the intro to "The Song Remains The same".

Then last summer I scored a six string Rennaisance-era Gurdy..They're both cool but the Renn-era one is awesome! It has two melody strings, two bass drones, and two higher drones, one being a "buzzing bridge" string, which as one turns the crank faster, gives a buzzing sort of pulse that adds a bit of rythmn to go with the rest of the overall sound..I can engage or disengage as many of the strings as I choose, and the thing sounds kind of like bagpipes..Definitely the kind of sound that bring castles and Celtic warriors to mind! :dude:

They're very quirky and temperamental instruments, and it's a bit of a battle to keep them in tune, but they're SO cool!

My poor guitars have not been getting played as much, as I'm spending a lot of practice time trying to get better on the Gurdy..I've got to remedy that!

That's Patty Gurdy, one of my main inspirations!

She's from Germany, and is an AMAZING Gurdy player..I think the one she's playing in that vid is her custom-made 18 stringer.

There's also some vids on youtube of a band she's played with called Storm Seeker..Check them out, they call themselves "Pirate metal folk rock music"! :dude:
