Just bought this amp and was wondering if it’s a genuine 1982B. The cab is all plywood/birch. The 4 celestion speakers are identical G30-H 75hz 16ohm with T1217, DE X on the speaker frame and 102/3 stamped in white on the cone. Searching info on this excellent forum I reckon the speakers were made in April 1972 unless someone can tell me otherwise?

The back panel on the cab does not have the info tag next to the socket and the handles are small plastic ones stamped England. It sounds fantastic, I’m just wondering, have got the real deal? :hmm:

Any advice appreciated,

Thanks

Its an old Sai cab, not a Marshall. I would be interested in buying the empty cab if you only want the speakers. PM me.

Thanks for your reply, it was the speakers I was interested in, if it was a Marshall cab that would have been a bonus but I had my doubts that it was.

Cheers

If they are like my 69 T1217s they are great speakers in a B cab

I've got a 73 one minus the grill cloth and the plastic handles.
Sadly the previous owner painted the baffle silver and used those awful metal mesh covers over the speakers (I'd have to check how he fixed them). Lmk if your interested.

Thanks, but I doubt I will take that unless you are giving it away, and even then Im struggling to justify it lol. Ive got too many 'project' cabs here as it is. Send me some photos anyway - sales at bygonetones dot com

Its a nice B cab Im looking for, and in good original condition. Im not really interested if its an A cab, or if trashed in any way.

Perhaps re-grill it with basketweave or checkerboard. They are great quality cabs, just no value to them because they are not a 'cool' or collectable brand. Worth keeping and using.
