Anybody got one? Seems like it would be a cheaper way to get that Friedman Marshall tone if it is any good.

Don't you just love it when someone posts a video that has literally no interesting visual content whatsoever, and the purpose could have been more efficiently served via soundcloud instead?

Sounds good other than being muffled, probably due to mic choice and placement.

It does sound rad. However I've got my metro 2203 that I modded which covers that type of tone. I use my origin as a pedal platform and can get many killer tonez with different pedals and that keeps me happy

So it now sounds like OD1 on a DSL40CR!!!

Not sure why people would buy the Origin only to make it sound like the DSL series ??

They are both great in their own way

IDK why I stopped using soundcloud and instead posted videos on yootoob with said offensive "no visual" content ;)

Years ago when I had a much slower internet connection, yootoob uploaded so much faster, and since I only get room sounds, someone over at the Duncan forums or such had asked me how I was placing the recorder and it was easier to just switch the recorder over to a video, instead of audio only.

As an observer, I'd rather not see the player or hear alot of banter from whoever is making the clip unless you are a seriously good player/professional. I can't state how many videos turn me off when I see some guys nasty frakking feet (flip flops don't help), or sitting down with a camera eye view of his picking hand as well as the crotch of his basketball/cargo shorts or his moobs.

And youtube is much easier to search than soundcloud for specific things I am looking for.

As for Friedman modded Origins, seems kinda silly (and expensive). I don't care for "the friedman tone" , but whatever floats your boat. I guess it's a good cheap platform for mods?

I thought that it sounded great, I do like how my Origin’s sound as they are, plus I have no funds for modding them, and I can get close to your modded tones with my Dsl40c’s, don’t let the negative vibes ruin your love of your modded Origin.
Cheers to your amp sounding as you like it.

I wonder is that mod an switchable on/off ?
The mod certainly gives the Origin a sound that it doesn't originally possess but I wouldn't want to be limited to that voice all the time... like when I wanted to hear my Origin's voice, for example.
And as unbelievable as it is I do hear a hint of "Friedman" sound in there and I'm not really a fan.
Anybody know what mods were done?

I started a thread years ago asking why people felt they had to mod their Marshalls. I'll never understand hacking a perfectly good amp. It's everyone's right to do it of course. I just never understood it.

I’m with most of you guys here, I don’t get the modding thing. I’ll change tubes now and then but that’s about it, same with my guitars.

I own only one guitar that I've changed out lots of stuff, the others are all stock. I’m not so discriminating that I cannot enjoy my Marshalls without modding them.

    But that’s me, we’re all different,.....that’s what’s so great!

    100% echo this.

Something I've always been baffled from. A ____ mod to tame the brightness...?? I mean...turn your Treble to zero...Turn your Presence to zero ( adjust to taste)....Let your Mids sing ..and your Bass bring the roof down.

Just because you have the knobs there doesn't mean you have to use them. Learn the EQ.
