Please let me know if you're getting bored with my posting of tunes. There really is nothing else to do at the moment. I was fortunate enough to get my daughter to do vocals on this cover of U Get Me High. There is also another version on my Soundcloud that has me singing (sorry!). Anyways hope you enjoy this latest effort.
Good job! I'm a huge Tom Petty and Mike Campbell fan as well. Talk about a great song writing team. One of the best!
Al, I was gutted when Tom passed. Seemed to me his song writing was better than ever....such a sad loss.
Cool man, and nice job. I never heard the original tune until now. Cheers for that. Tom Petty was a songwriting badass.
Thanks....much appreciated. For those interested, the rhythm guitar was a USA Tele into the normal input OD channel of a Slash SL-5 using a 1922 cab with greenbacks, in addition to the amps V-30. All the leads were LP R8 into a cranked Bluesbreaker combo with about 3db attenuation. The bass was actually the Tele too. I ran it through a TC Sub N Up with just the octave down. The bass part is all at the low end of the bass and my left hand arthritis was giving me real jip. The Sub N Up tracks pretty well and was an accepable solution
